Metadata

Metadata refers to the set of data that describes and gives information about other data within a video file.

In filmmaking post-production, metadata can include details such as the camera settings (like aperture, shutter speed, and ISO), timecode, reel name, scene and take numbers, lens information, and location data.

Metadata aids in the post-production process by providing context and essential information to editors, colourists, and other post-production professionals, streamlining the workflow and ensuring consistency and accuracy in the final product.
